1. Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) required for VLE access
We have previously contacted you about setting up Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) to access the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). To give you sufficient time to complete this process, we have postponed the enforcement of MFA.
Important: Starting from 10 February 2025, you will only be able to log in to the VLE if you have set up MFA.
If you have already completed the MFA setup, you can disregard this part of the message and skip to part 2.
Instructions for setting up MFA are provided at the foot of this email* or on the home page of the VLE.If you are experiencing any issues registering your account, please contact our IT department on 0161 674 3333 (select option 3). Alternatively, please email them at ISservicedesk@ltegroup.co.uk
2. Scheduled Moodle upgrade and downtime
To increase security and improve your learning experience, we will be upgrading the Moodle platform.
Moodle downtime: The Moodle platform will be unavailable from 10 PM on 07 February 2025 until 7 AM on 09 February 2025. If you have any concerns about the planned outage, please get in touch with our Support team (programmesupport@mollearn.com).
We appreciate your patience during this upgrade and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
IMPORTANT
Please note that your MOL VLE account is linked to Office 365. If you are logged into a personal or work Office 365 account, you will need to log out to access your MOL account. If you encounter an error message such as ‘Username does not exist in the tenant’, please follow these steps:
- Go to your Microsoft profile: https://myaccount.microsoft.com/
- Select your avatar or initials at the top right corner of the page.
- Choose Sign in with a different account and log in with your MOL credentials.
- After setting up MFA, you can switch back to your personal or work account as needed.
- Option 1: Microsoft Authenticator app:
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from your device’s app store
- Follow the instructions provided by Microsoft Support to set up the app as your verification method:

- Option 2: SMS text message method:
- Use your mobile phone to receive SMS verification codes

Note, to set up MFA, open your account's Security info page and sign in to your Microsoft/MOL account using your MOL username and password.
